New ‘Prey’ Film Takes On Never Before Seen Challenges
With summer kicking off to a great start it seems like the film industry has also started pulling cards from their sleeves as we have now been given the trailer for Prey, also known as Predator 5, which will be coming this summer on Hulu.
The film’s official trailer was released earlier this month, but it already has fans debating whether or not the new title will be worth watching after its predecessor titled The Predator received very mixed reviews from critics and the general public. However, there are some changes in this upcoming film that has never been explored before in the franchise.

The first major change revolves around the plot which takes place in 1719 following a native American tribe known as the Comanche Nation. This tribe has a deep history within what was the Southern Plains of the United States. This will be the first predator film that doesn’t involve the modern technology that we are used to today. This also may change some of the weapons used by the predator as we see the iconic red laser beam in the trailer. However, instead of a plasma bolt being fired it may be arrows. This new arsenal also seems to include a shield as we see the predator fighting colonist using muskets.

On top of plot changes, we also have new directing and producing staff. The Director is Dan Trachtenberg, who has directed well-known films such as 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) as well as more recently The Boys (2019). We also have a list of talented actors/actresses such as the lead role of Naru a young Comanche warrior being played by Amber Midthunder, and our Yautja Predator being played by Dane DiLiegro.
Overall Prey as of now shows promise with an amazing fight choreographer as well as intense action. As for ratings, it was confirmed this month that Prey, like all the other films, will be rated R. So, are you excited to see the new addition to a long-running franchise? Keep in the loop with us as we get ready to hit the beach for summer fun.
