The 95th annual Oscars saw some major winners this past Sunday, March 12th. However, what was more important was this year’s host. As Jimmy Kimmel was given the honor and put into the hot seat after last year’s host Chris Rock was smacked live by actor Will Smith. After Rock had made a joke about Jada Smith.

However, this year Jimmy instead of being worried had a bit to say about the infamous “Slap heard around the world.” poking fun at the situation as a comedian does. And the show went thankfully without incident.

While some may not be happy with Kimmel hosting there were still plenty of reactions to his various monologues throughout the night. Though looking at the jokes and reactions while he may not have been attacked some are certainly not happy with Jimmy after the events of the Oscars

So here are some of the Internet’s reactions to the 2023 Oscars.

  • Classy Party Begone!

Kimmel had some shade to throw during his time hosting. One joke gained a large “Ooooo” from attendees as he mentioned how the 2023 movie Babylon lost roughing 100million USD. Thankfully the jap didn’t result in a sequel to the slap. Though what would be a better name The Slap Strikes Back Or Slap 2: Backhand?

  • Yikes... Andrew Blink Twice If You Need Help.

This was a part of Kimmel’s bit where he was mentioning all the names of people that would protect him. If some would be slapper were to try anything. Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman was mention and the camera caught this strange glimpse. Forget about Kimmel is Andrew okay?

  • I Thought It Was Alright.

I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it. I just thought the late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel did an alright job. There were certain jokes that certainly got mixed reactions. Though I get why some people may feel the performance was bland. How many times can you really make fun of the slap and other pop culture hits? Well you have a better chance of getting to the center of a tootsie pop.

  • Now This Is Pretty Good.

Some are genuinely upset with Kimmel after his Babylon joke. I mean come on it was funny and in good spirt at least that’s how I see it. I get why those who like the movie or worked on it would be upset at the end of the day if you like the movie that’s all the matters.

  • While It Did Mention The Incident Again. This was pretty funny.

Probably one of the funniest parts of his performance. Now if he hadn’t made several jokes throughout the night. I think this would have been a lot funnier. Though it still made me smile a bit.

  • I Will Say Those Jokes Were Rough....

You could hear it in the crowd after Kimmel made a joke about Director James Cameron’ lack of attendance and that Avtar 2 had not been nominated. Though you can see the crowd trying to keep the flow moving right up until Jimmy said his what do they think he is a woman joke. The crowd goes to laugh, but you just hear some shock.

  • Oh. Oh No.

Alongside his other joke about Avatar, Kimmel mentioned Nick Canon’s current situation in that all his kids would need to see Avatar 2 to break even. I usual go with the flow and say jokes are jokes, but ouch that was right in the gut. TMZ actual got Canon’s comments to this where he appeared to be cool with it and even made some jokes of his own.

  • Yeah That A Wrap.

This is what most people are really upset about. The interaction just felt awkward. You can see Kimmel try to pull off some quick jokes to ease the tension, but it just made it so much worse. I don’t even know what to say besides yikes.
