“Star” Wars Episode 12: Yankees vs Dodgers
The Yankees are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, and this matchup is going to be anything short of star-studded.
Yankee superstar Juan Soto sent the Yankees to the World Series Saturday Night when he took Cleveland Guardian reliever Hunter Gaddis deep in the 10th inning with a three-run blast.
The Dodgers punched their ticket to the World Series when they defeated the Mets on Sunday night avoiding the pressure of a game 7.
The stars are certainly lined up for this series, and all of them are performing at a high level on the world’s brightest stage. Only one can be left when the calendar turns to November, which stars will lead their team for the promised land?
Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, and Aaron Judge are the Yankees’ biggest names and biggest stars. Soto and Stanton have been otherworldly in the playoffs this season, and while Judge has struggled, he has had a big moment or two. For the Yankees to take home their 28th World Series Title, it must be a team effort, but most importantly their stars are going to have to continue to perform, and Judge is going to have to break out of his slump if they want to keep up with the Dodgers offense.
The Dodgers feel like they can’t be stopped right now with three MVPs hitting in their lineup. Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman will look to take their team to the promised land as three former or current MVPs should. The Dodgers pitching staff, and lack of elite arms in the bullpen are the only flaws the team has, but they can out-hit anyone they play so the holes aren’t as glaring.
This should be the most exciting World Series to be played in many years considering all the big names that are playing in it. What makes this series so much fun is that most of these players are performing at the level they are getting paid for.
