Whatever led to the suspension of Rutgers Freshman Kiyomi McMiller, Rutgers Women's Basketball Coach Coquese Washington is ready to move on.

"I don’t have any additional insight for you all because it’s an internal matter that we handled internally and moved past it, moved on and moved forward. That’s all I have to say on that," Washington said Sunday night.

McMiller who was benched before Rutgers game against USC on January 5, and didn't play in their road contest at Minnesota on January 8, scored 33 points in her return to the lineup on Sunday. She led the team in field goals (14-of-28) and three pointers (five-of-14) on the night. It was the third time this year, McMiller has scored 30-plus in a game this year for Rutgers.

"We’re happy to have her back,” Washington continued. “I don’t have anything to explain. She’s back with our team, back at practice.”

McMiller is one of the top Freshman in the country for women's basketball, averaging 19.9 points per game.

According to the New York Post at the time of her benching last week, McMiller posted to social media apologizing to her fans that she wouldn't be playing.

“I would like to apologize to my fans,” she wrote over the weekend. “I will not be playing in today’s game vs. USC, which is #4 in the country. This decision was made by my Head Coach Coquese Washington. Thank you for your continued support.”

The Post later cited a story from NJ.com, claiming that McMiller got into an altercation with a teammate, and there was speculation of transferring.

Rutgers will play host to Michigan State on Wednesday at 7:00. The game can be heard on our website foxsportsradionewjersey.com.
