Carlos Rodon Likely to Make Yankees Debut Friday
Carlos Rodon will likely make his Yankees debut on Friday against the Chicago Cubs at Yankee Stadium.
Rodon had three starts in the minors to rehab as he prepared to mark his return to a Major League mound for the first time since last September. Rodon’s season debut with the Yankees was delayed due to arm and back issues in Spring Training.

In three starts combined, Rodon gave up a run on three hits over 10.2 innings pitched. He walked three and struck out 17.

“Ready to pitch wherever they need me,” Rodon told reporters after his Hudson Valley outing.
A two-time All-Star in separate seasons with the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants, Rodon struck out 422 batters combined the past two seasons, an average of 12 strikeouts per nine innings.
Rodon was the seventh Yankee player to rehab with the Somerset Patriots this season.
The Cubs who come into Yankee Stadium on Friday to close out the first half of the season, have struggled this season at 40-45 on the year; although they have won their last two contests. In his last three starts against the Cubies dating back to 2021, Rodon is 2-1 with an ERA of 1.05 over 17.1 innings of work against them. He struck out 32 batters in the three starts combined.
