Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon will make his second rehab outing on Sunday with the Double-A Somerset Patriots.
Rodon made his 2023 organizational debut on Tuesday with a stellar showing. He held the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a run on one hit with a walk. He struck out five batters, and threw 42 pitches on the day.
Rodon spoke with reporters after, expressing cautious optimism about his return to the mound.
Rodon signed a six-year, $162 million deal in the off-season to join the Yankees after back-to-back All-Star campaigns with the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants.
The Patriots should/could have the Eastern Division title wrapped up before Sunday. The Patriots magic number heading into Thursday's action is three, and could clinch the title Friday night.
