Patriots Tripped Up By BaySox in 10-2 Loss

Bowie, MD — The Somerset Patriots (68-42) were defeated by the Bowie Baysox (54-57) by a score of 10-2 on Thursday night at Prince’s George Stadium.
Jesus Bastidas smacked his career-high 14th home run of the season in the second inning that gave the Patriots a 2-0 lead. From that point on, Bowie scored 10 unanswered runs, including homers from Colton Cowser and Connor Norby.
Andres Chaparro opened up the scoring in the game with an RBI-single in the first inning.
Deivi Garcia picked up the loss for Somerset, allowing six earned runs in his five innings of work.
The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue in Bowie on Friday with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch against the Bowie Baysox at Prince George’s Stadium.
RHP Matt Sauer will get the start for Somerset opposite LHP Cade Povich for Bowie.
