T.J. Rumfield Sends Somerset Patriots Seventh Walk-Off of Season
T.J. Rumfield just has a knack for the dramatic. The Somerset Patriots first baseman delivered Somerset’s seventh walk-off win of the season when he lined a single to center, scoring Ben Rice with the game winning run, as the Patriots topped the Erie Seawolves 5-4 in ten innings.

The walk-off hit by Rumfield was the third by him this season.
The win capped off a wild night for Somerset. The Patriots nursed a 2-1 lead for much of the night until Jace Jung cracked a pair of home runs that slingshot Erie in front by a score of 4-2 in the top of the tenth inning.
In the bottom half of the tenth, Ben Rice’s single to right chased home Eduardo Torrealba, slicing the Erie lead to a single run at 4-3.
After Augustin Ramirez and Spencer Jones singled, Rumfield took a pitch to deep center for the game winner.
SPENCER JONES:
The Yankees number one prospect is starting to impress in Somerset. He went 2-for-5 on Wednesday night with three stolen bases.

Jones owns 39 stolen bases on the year in his time with High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset. Only Jasson Dominguez and Brandon Lockridge are ahead of him with 40 swipes.
Dominguez at the majors:
Speaking of Jasson Dominguez, he launched his third homer since joining the Yankees at the big league level. It was his firs Yankee Stadium home run. In five games since getting called up, Dominguez is hitting .333 with three homers and five RBI.

Drew Thorpe:
After getting named the Pitcher of the Month by minor League Baseball for August, Drew Thorpe got the start, allowing only a run on three hits over four innings of work. He struck out five, and has struck out 182 batters this season.
Next Up:
The Patriots continue their series with the Erie Seawolves all week in a series that could potentially determine home field in the playoffs.
