New York Yankees Prospect Jasson Dominguez Named Player of the Week
Yankees’ number 2 prospect Jasson Dominguez is on fire at the plate.
The center fielder, who has spent almost the entire season exclusively with Double-A Somerset, had a four-hit night against the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday, a game the Patriots won going away 6-1. As a result
As a result, Dominguez was named the Eastern League Player of the Week.
Dominguez scored on base hits by Augstin Ramirez in the fifth inning, and on a base hit by Elijah Dunham in the sixth inning. Dominguez also picked up a RBI on a double that drove home Max Burt.

In the six games at Reading, Dominguez went 13-for-28 (.464 AVG) with eight RBI, eight runs scored, two home runs, five doubles, three walks, and a stolen base.
In 18 games during the month of August, Dominguez has a 1.046 OPS, with a slash line .380 batting average, .438 on-base percentage, and a.608 slugging percentage with 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, 12 extra-base hits and 48 total bases. In short, he has been amazing.
Player of the Week
Dominguez becomes the sixth Patriots player to receive such an honor joining Ben Rice and Drew Thorpe (August 7-13), Tyler Hardman ( June 26 – July 2 and July 17 – 23), and RHP Clayton Beeter (June 5 – 11). Hardman was also named the Eastern League Player of the Month for July.

Meanwhile, Aaron Palensky joined the 20/20 club with his 20th stolen base of the year. He already has 20 homers this season in stops between Somerset and Hudson Valley.
Blane Abeyta got the victory for Somerset, allowing a run on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Abeyta improves to 8-6 on the season.
Ron Guidry comes to TD Bank
The Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday when they open up a week-long series with the Hartford Yard Goats.
Fans are reminded that on Tuesday, August 22, ex-Yankees legend Ron Guidry will be on hand for a pre-game ceremony with Sparky Lyle before the first pitch of the 7:05 game between the Patriots and Yard Goats. He will sign a limited number of autographs on the concourse.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, August 23, the Patriots will give away Ron Guidry bobbleheads to season ticket holders at 5:30, and the general public at 6 p.m.
