Eric Wagaman blasted two homers and the Somerset Patriots extended their winning streak to seven games with a 6-3 victory over the Altoona Curve at TD Bank Ballpark, Thursday night.
The winning streak, coupled with a pair of losses by the Portland SeaDogs has pushed the Patriots to a 1.5 game lead for first place in the Eastern Division of the Double-A Eastern League.
The Patriots victory came in comeback style. Somerset trailed 3-0 heading toward the bottom of the seventh inning when Wagaman crushed his first homer of the night, a two-run blast to right-center that cut the Curves lead to 3-2.
An inning later, with the bases loaded, Wagaman crushed a pitch over the right field wall for a grand slam homer to push the Patriots in front 6-3.
Wagaman is red hot right now. He is hitting .500 (6-for-12) with seven RBI in his last three games. The multi-homer game was his fourth such performance of his career; the six RBI he knocked in was also the second time he accomplished that feat in his career.
In fact, Wagaman became the first Patriot this season to register six RBI in a single game. He is also the second Patriot to club two dingers in a game this season; the other beign Jeisson Rosario back in April.

Father’s Day will be here before you know it. And I don’t know about you, but shopping for my dad can be hard. He doesn’t usually have a list or a need for any items, so it’s usually up to me to think big! My dad is a huge sports fan though, and since I know who his loyalty lies with, grabbing sports gear is always a safe bet.
Whether it’s a nice jersey for one of his favorite players or a great hat, there are tons of different items that I could get him. And that includes some great fan-made stuff too. And because I’m an equal opportunity sports person (when it comes to fun lists that is) I’ve put together this list of fun gifts for sports dads that he’ll love no matter who he roots for.
Please note that items are in stock and prices are accurate at the time we published this list. Have an idea for a fun theme for a gift idea list you’d like us to create? Drop us a line at [email protected].
