Somerset’s Clayton Beeter Receives Top Minor League Weekly Honor

Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots starting pitcher Clayton Beeter it’s Double-A Eastern League Pitcher of the Week.
Beeter, who is ranked 13th among top prospects for the New York Yankees, tossed two stellar games this week against the Hartford Yardgoats, posting a 2-0 record with 11 scoreless innings and 17 strikeouts.
Per a Somerset Patriots press release:
“Beeter matched a career-high 11 strikeouts in six scoreless innings. His five scoreless innings on Sunday lowered his Eastern League best ERA to 2.13. Beeter is tied for the league lead in strikeouts (69) and tied for second in wins (5). He is also tied for fifth in innings pitched (55.0) and fifth in batting average against (.208).”
Beeter is having a heck of year in Somerset this year. He entered the season without recording a victory in his professional career, which included a stint in the LA Dodgers farm system. He is now riding a three-game winning streak.
Beeter and the Patriots will host the Altoona Curve starting tonight from TD Bank Ballpark. Beeter is slated to start Friday against the Curve.
