Patriots Clobber Sea Dogs Again

The Somerset Patriots (12-7) were led by three home runs for a second consecutive night as they defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (10-9) by a final score of 7-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
Blake Perkins struck first for Somerset with a two-run home run (6) over the right field fence in the bottom of the fourth. It was Perkins’ fifth home run in his past seven games.
Somerset then blew open the game in the bottom of the eighth. Jeisson Rosario’s RBI triple, as well as two-run home runs by Derek Dietrich (3) and Chad Bell (2), added five runs to the lead. Dietrich and Bell have now homered in back-to-back games.

The Sea Dogs finally got on the board in the top of the ninth with Pedro Castellanos coming home on a wild pitch.
Luis Medina (1-1) threw five strong frames, striking out six batters without giving up a run and allowing just a hit to earn the win. Josh Maciejewski closed the game, after he pitched the final four innings, allowed a run and struck out four to earn the save (1).
Brayan Bello (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing two runs in 5.1 innings of work and recording eight strikeouts.
The 2022 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday, April 30 with a 6:35 pm game against the Sea Dogs at TD Bank Ballpark.
