Patriots bring out the Thunder vs. Yard Goats
Hartford, Connecticut –The Somerset Patriots (7-4) defeated the Hartford Yard Goats (5-6) 5-4 at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Wednesday evening.
Anthony Volpe (2) led off the ballgame with a no doubt home run to left center field.
Jesus Bastidas lined an RBI single to right in the second for a 2-0 advantage.

Josh Breaux (5) led off the third with a solo shot to right to extend the lead.
In the sixth, Blake Perkins drove home Brandon Lockridge with a triple and scored on a Mickey Gasper base hit for a 6-0 advantage.

The Yard Goats then scored four unanswered runs, starting with an RBI double by Brenton Doyle in the sixth.

A three-run eighth inning, highlighted by RBI base hits by Jameson Hannah and Isaac Collins, cut the lead to one for the 5-4 final.
Mitch Spence (1-1) went five scoreless innings and struck out five for the win. Mitchell Kilkenny (0-3) suffered the loss after he allowed two earned runs on two hits in two innings pitched. Derek Craft (2) earned the save with 1.1 scoreless innings pitched.
