Rutgers Women’s Volleyball Wins 5th Straight USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – For the fifth-straight year and 10th time overall, the Rutgers volleyball program has been honored with the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for their work in the classroom.
Rutgers was among the 215 Division I women’s teams to achieve over a 3.30 grade-point average during the 2021-22 academic year.

A school-record ten Scarlet Knights were named Academic All-Big Ten in the fall with a cumulative GPA over a 3.0, while four members of the squad were bestowed with Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades for attaining a 3.7 GPA or higher during the 2021-22 year.
Middle blocker Shealyn McNamara captured a perfect 4.0 GPA during the year while working on her master’s in health administration, right-side hitter Beka Kojadinovic earned her fourth distinguished honor from the conference graduating with a degree in financial analysis while fellow right-side hitter Kamila Cieslik picked up her third distinguished academic honor earning a degree in animal sciences. Returning setter Lauren DeLo was also among this year’s Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.
