Patriots Sweep Doubleheader from Fisher Cats
Official Somerset Patriots Press Release: Manchester, New Hampshire – The Somerset Patriots (38-21) swept the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (27-32) in Wednesday evening’s doubleheader in Manchester, taking game one 2-0 and game two 4-3.
Game 1: Jesus Bastidas (6) delivered what would be the only runs of the ballgame with a two-run blast in the second inning, scoring Blake Perkins and providing the Patriots with a 2-0 victory. Yankees 11th ranked prospect Luis Medina (2-2) earned the win in a dominant showcase on the mound, allowing no runs on two hits in six innings of work with ten strikeouts.Yankees No. 11 prospect Luis Medina was lights out tonight 🤩

Carson Coleman recorded his third save of the season, striking out one in a shutout seventh inning of work and lowering his ERA to 0.69 on the season. Hayden Juenger (0-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in three innings of work. Game 2: The Fisher Cats got the scoring started in the top of the fourth inning on a Luis De Los Santos sacrifice fly, bringing home Spencer Horowitz and giving New Hampshire a 1-0 lead. Rodolfo Duran put the Patriots on the board and tied the ballgame at 1-1 with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, plating Perkins. Anthony Volpe put Somerset ahead 2-1 in the fifth with a single to right-field, scoring Michael Beltre. Josh Breaux then added to the Patriots lead with an RBI groundout later in the frame, bringing home Oliver Dunn. Will Robertson (7) got two back for New Hampshire with a two-run blast in the sixth inning, tying the game at 3-3.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh, when Perkins laced a walk-off single, scoring Volpe and giving the Patriots a 4-3 victory and doubleheader sweep.

Carlos Espinal (1-0) earned the win, allowing a run on one hit in 1.2 innings of relief with one strikeout. Jimmy Burnette (1-1) took the loss, allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work. The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road on Thursday with a 6:35 PM game versus the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
