New York Jets bringing Back “Classic” Uniforms
What was once old is new again!
The New York Jets will return to their classic uniforms for one game only this season, when they play host to the Buffalo Bills on October 14 at MetLife Stadium on Monday Night Football.
With training camps opening up this week, Gang Green announced on social media that the club will wear its classic “road whites” at home for one game only this season.
The reaction online has been what one would expect: bedlam.
The Jets wore the “classic” uniforms full-time for most of their history from 1963-1977 and again from 1998-2018. In these uniforms the franchise had its most success, winning its only Super Bowl (Super Bowl, 1969); two AFC East titles (1998, 2002), and qualifying for three different trips to the AFC title game (1998, 2009, and 2010).
It’s good to see the Jets have finally come around to not only bring back the ’80s sack exchange uniforms, but the classics as well. Let the season begin.
