Wink Martindale is out as Giants' Defensive Coordinator. And more details are coming out about his departure.

According to the New York Post, Martindale "cursed out" Head Coach Brian Daboll in a heated argument before storming out the building and hopping on a flight to his home in Florida.

The Giants, as of Tuesday night, had not heard from Martindale on a possible resignation, despite it being reported on Monday.

The news of Martindale's resignation came on Monday shortly after the Giants made a flurry of changes to the coaching staff. It was a shock to many because Head Coach Brian Daboll said Monday morning that Martindale would be back next season.

Furthermore, CBS Sports' Josina Anderson the Giants are still waiting to communicate with Martindale, and there is no official word on his departure.

Controversy around Martindale is nothing new. Reports in November indicated that there was a rift between Martindale and Daboll. Back in November, Daboll was asked about the rift to which he said the biggest argument they had was over "pizza."

Earlier on Monday the Giants announced a series of changes to the coaching staff which included firing special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey, outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins, and his brother Kevin Wilkins. The Wikins brothers came to the Giants via Martindale, who knew both of them during his time as Defensive Coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens.

Replacements?

Should the Giants indeed move on from Martindale, former Bills Defensive Coordinator Leslie Fraizer could be a candidate. He worked with Daboll up in Buffalo.

Antonio Pierce, if he does not get the full-time gig as Raiders Head Coach, has been floated as a candidate because of his ties to the Giants.

Stay tuned folks, it's gonna get interesting for Big Blue.
