Ben Rice Pours It On Bay Sox Before Storms Settle 6-0 Shutout
While he has only been here less than a week, Ben Rice is making a huge impact on the Somerset Patriots lineup.
The 24-year old poured it on with a home run and four RBI, as the Patriots blanked the Bowie Bay Sox 6-0 before heavy rains and thunderstorms vanquished the area, ending the game after six innings of play.
Before Rice made his presence felt, Trey Sweeney put the Yankees Double-A affiliate on the board with a line drive solo homer to right, his 13th dinger of the year, to put Somerset up 1-0.

Rice then joined the party in the fourth. His RBI single to center scored Mickey Gasper to make it 2-0. An inning later, he corked a three-run homer to right to make it 6-0. The home run was Rice’s third since getting called up a week ago. He already has 10 RBI, and is hitting an astounding .558.
