Somerset Patriots first baseman Brandon Lockridge enjoyed a huge night at the plate, and helped to propel Somerset to a 7-5 victory over Hartford on Thursday.

Lockridge went 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI in the win. His second RBI double in the seventh inning put the Patriots in front 6-5. He added the insurance run an inning later with a RBI double in the eighth.

All the runs went to the advantage of starting pitcher Blane Abate who recorded a career high 11 strikeouts over 6.2 innings of work.

Max Burt also crushed a three-run homer in the top of the first inning to get things started for Somerset.

The Patriots and Yard Goats continue their series tonight in Connecticut at 7 p.m.
