Rumfield RBI Single Scores Victory for Patriots
The Somerset Patriots walked it off on a Sunday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark, winning 5-4 in extras on T.J. Rumfield’s RBI single. The victory cemented a series victory for the Patriots over the Portland Sea Dogs. The Patriots are now 2.5 games behind Portland for first place in the Eastern League’s East Division.
Rumfield’s game winning hit in the tenth inning was the second time this year the Patriots first baseman won a game on a walk-off. His sac fly against Reading on May 19 delivered a win for the Patriots earlier this year.
