Rizzo Banged Up But ‘Ok’ After Collision with Tatis
Anthony Rizzo is “fine” according to Yankees skipper Aaron Boone after the Yankee first baseman was removed in the sixth inning for precautionary reasons after sustaining a injury in an awkward collision with the leg of Fernando Tatis Jr. at first base.
The injury occurred when Rizzo tried to make a play on a pick-off attempt on Tatis.

It looked ugly as the two All-Stars got tangled up and Rizzo fell to the ground. Thankfully for the Bomberes all is well.
And all is certainly well for the Yankees who took two-of-three in this wild weekend set with the Padres, culminating in a 10-7 victory, Sunday.

A seven-run third inning proved to be the difference for the Yankees as Anthony Volpe, Aaron Judge, Rizzo, Harrison Bader, Will Calhoun, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and Kyle Higashioka all drove in runs in the inning.
Volpe’s RBI single got the party started, while Judge tied it with a single to left scoring Volpe. Rizzo put the Yanks in front with a RBI to single to right, scoring Gleyber Torres.
Judge and Bader also homered in the victory.
