PATRIOTS 4 – SENATORS 3
It was not easy, but the Somerset Patriots found a way to earn a 4-3 victory in Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon, holding up a brilliant performance by starting pitcher Richard Fitts who earned his first victory as a Patriot.
Somerset carried a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth before Justin Maese served up a three-run homer to Jackson Cluff to widdle down the Somerset lead to a single run. Maese came back to strike out Yasel Antuna and jammed J.T. Arruda into a fly ball to center field.
As for Fitts, he held the Senators to just three hits over six innings of work, with four strikeouts to get his first victory in Somerset.
