Rutgers Men’s Soccer Halts Wisconsin, Advances in Big Ten Tourney
After 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime, it took penalty kicks to determine a winner in the quarterfinals match-up between Rutgers and Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. And at the end of the night it was Rutgers who came away with a 5-4 victory in penalty kicks.
Rutgers advances to the Big Ten Semifinals where they will meet Ohio State at Yurcak Field in Piscataway on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
Pablo Avila, Thomas DeVizio, MD Myers, Matthew Acosta and Temple all buried their attempts while goalkeeper Ciaran Dalton made a clutch stop on Wisconsin’s second attempt to help solidify the victory.
