Rutgers Women’s Soccer Now 4-0
Rutgers women’s soccer remains one of the unbeaten after holding off Buffalo 2-1 in the home opener at Yurcak Field in Piscataway.
After a goal by Buffalo’s Jasmine Guerber in the 30th minute put the Bison up 1-0, Rutgers stormed back with a pair of goals. The first score came just before halftime when Reilly Tiernan netted her first goal of the season on a pass from Kylie Daigle.
Finally nine minutes into the second half, Allison Lowrey netted her third goal of the year to put Rutgers up 2-1.
Megan McClelland played all 90 minutes in net, surrendering only one goal; in fact, Buffalo’s only score came on its only shot-on-goal attempt as Rutgers defense was again at top form.
