Knicks Fall in Final Seconds to T-Wolves
T-WOLVES 112 – KNICKS 110
Another night, another close loss for the Knicks, who fell 112-110 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The second consecutive loss at home for New York, dropped the Knicks to 22-23 on the season. They are in last place in the Atlantic Division.
In a game that was tight all the way through, the Knicks were nursing a 109-108 lead with a minute to go in regulation. All New York needed was a bucket and a couple of stops, and they would have dispatched the pesky T-Wolves. Instead a series of mistakes down the stretch did the Knicks in.
With 29.3 seconds to go in the game, Karl-Anthony Towns nailed a jumper, while getting fouled by Julius Randle, that gave the T-Wolves the lead. Towns sunk the free throw attempt to give Minnesota a 111-109 advantage.

New York would never lead again in the final seconds. Randle hit on only one-of-two foul shots at the free throw line, cutting the Wolves lead to one-point. Then with one second left, Alec Burks missed a 26-foot three that would have sent Madison Square Garden into a tizzy.

“I definitely wanted to win, but we’ve got to keep grinding it out,” Knicks Point Guard Kemba Walker said. “This league is hard. It’s hard to win games in this league.”
Towns, who grew up in Edison, New Jersey was thrilled to come home and win a game for Minnesota in front of the MSG crowd.
“I told my dad everyone’s going to get a chance to have their Madison Square Garden moment and I felt that was for me tonight. That was the biggest moment that I’ve had in MSG,” Towns said. “Great crowd, great atmosphere, great energy and I got to silence everybody, so that makes it even better.”
The Knicks, who are now two games under .500 at home, host the Pelicans at MSG on Thursday.
