MLB Lockout “Won’t Affect” 2022 Season for Somerset Patriots
With Major League Baseball having locked out its players last week in what figures to be a long, grueling renegotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, many are wondering what affect, if any, the lockout have on affiliated minor league baseball, should the lockout bleed into next spring.
According to Somerset Patriots General Manager Patrick McVerry there will be no affect.
The Patriots posted a statement from McVerry earlier this weekend addressing the lockout.

The Patriots are not the only Yankees minor league affiliate to publish a statement since the lockout started. New York’s Triple-A affiliate in Scranton Wilkes-Barre also put out a similar statement that the season will go on as planned.
