Brooklyn Nets Set New Franchise Record With 91 Points In The 1st Half
No Kyrie for the Nets no problem, Kevin Durant led the way with 23 points for the Nets as they blew out the Golden State Warriors 143-113.
The Nets made history Wednesday night. In the first half, they scored 91 points which are the most in franchise history and third most all-time in NBA history. Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn was not aware his team had their best first half in team history but he was enthusiastic about it.
“That’s what happens when you come to work and you’re ready to work from the beginning,” Vaughn said.
The Nets put up 91 points in the 1st half of their game against the Warriors tonight. That is the 3rd-highest 1st half point total in NBA history.

In their last two victories, the Nets have had to come back down from 18 and 19 points. This one was over not too long after a tip-off. The Nets made their first 11 of 12 shots and never looked back. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 46-17. A 29-point differential is the largest at any point in the NBA season. The Nets matched a franchise record with nine players scoring in double figures.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said it was the early turnovers that helped the Nets get out to an early lead. They had 21 turnovers that converted to 36 points for the Nets.
“And then they made everything,” Kerr said. “They were phenomenal in the first half.”
With no Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, or Andrew Wiggins in this game the Warriors end their East coast road trip with a record of 1-5. Over the course of the season, they have not been great on the road with a record of 3-16.
Curry will remain sidelined with a shoulder injury but Wiggins and Thompson should both be back for their Christmas matchup against the Memphis Grizzles. They will need all the help they can get after being down by as many as 44.
The second pick in the 2020 draft James Wiseman came off the bench and had 30 points going 12-14 from the field. This is back-to-back nights where the Warriors were blown out. Tuesday night they lost to the Knicks by 38. There will be a lot of soul-searching for the Warriors.
The Nets are red hot riding a seven-game win streak and will hope to continue that streak when they host the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night at 7:30.
Knocked down a season-high 21 threes last night 👌
