Lindor Slam Powers Mets Past Brew Crew
The best way to pick up right after clinching a playoff berth? Keep on winning.
That is what the Mets did on Tuesday night, because, well, they have to. Thanks to a pair of monster home runs by Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor, the Mets stormed back to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-5. The victory keeps the Mets in front of the Atlanta Braves by one game with 12 to go in the regular season. It also moved the Mets to a season high 40-games over .500 at 95-55.
The Mets trailed the Brewers 4-0 before Alonso connected for his 37th homer of the year to bring the Mets to within a run at 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning.
An inning later, with the bases loaded, Lindor Crushed a fastball into the bullpens in left field to give the Mets a resounding 7-4 advantage.
