Celtics Look to Finish the Heat
The Boston Celtics have a 3-2 lead after winning Game 5 down in Miami. The Celtics will look to close out the series and advance to the NBA Finals on their home court.
In the past the Celtics have given up 3-2 leads before so no one is ready to celebrate.
“Leave everything on the floor. You don’t want any feelings of regret. We got an opportunity to do something with this group that’s special.” Said Jaylen Brown.
The Heat are in a win-or-go home situation, after playing terribly at home. In Game 5 they shot 31.9 percent from the field and went 7 of 45 from three.
They will need to be way more efficient if they want a chance at pushing this to a Game 7.
Jimmy Butler put up 13 points and went 4 for 15 from the field in Game 5. The rest of the backcourt has no rhythm at all. Kyle Lowry was 0 for 6, Max Strus was 0 for 9 and Victor Oladipo was 1 for 7. Over the last two games Strus alone has gone 0 for 16.
Injuries have been a factor for the Heat. Butler has been playing with a sore knee. Over the last two games he has played terribly averaging 9.5 points and shooting 7 of 32.
“I’ve got to find a way to help us win, and I haven’t been doing that.” Said Butler.
Miami has a few players on their injury list: Lowry (left hamstring), Strus (right hamstring), Gabe Vincent (left hamstring), and P.J. Tucker (right knee) all are listed as questionable for Game 6. Another player that is big to this team that has missed time is Tyler Herro. He has missed the last two games with a groin injury. He is questionable but if he plays there could be hope.
The player that has to come and play is Bam Adebayo. When Robert Williams III does not play he plays well but when Williams is on the floor Adebayo looks scared. He barely takes a shot. He has to be aggressive if the Heat want a chance to make it out of Boston tonight. All the other important pieces will play hurt and Adebayo might have to take it upon himself to try and lead this team.
Game 6 will be Friday as the Celtics will try to close out to meet the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
