Giannis to the Brooklyn Nets Could Be Move to Watch For
The Brooklyn Nets have been the surprise team to start the NBA season, so is this sustainable or will they eventually fall off, what direction should they go in?
Should they try and turn this early success into something real, or should they sell of their pieces and continue to turn towards a rebuild?
Whatever the team decides to do they need to do it fast, waiting is the worst thing they could do.
The Nets have three main pieces that are already gauging interest in the trade market. Dennis Schroeder, Cam Johnson, and Dorian Finney Smith will all be players that are going to be on the move when the Nets eventually decide to sell off their main pieces. All three could play major roles for championship contending teams so the Nets should get some nice compensation back for their veterans if they decide to move on.
The Nets have the draft capital to make a run at a potential disgruntled superstar should one become available, (Giannis) this is the one and only reason the Nets should maybe wait to hold onto their players. Sean Marks should be calling Milwaukee every day asking about Giannis, and even making offers.
The Nets can offer the Bucks expiring contracts and a ton of draft picks, should Milwaukee be ready to move on from Giannis. The Nets could be a match since they do own Milwaukee’s first round pick this year, but in a world that changes so fast anything can happen at any moment.
The Nets were smart to move on from Bridges this past off season, getting a king’s ransom for him, 5 first round picks, a first-round pick swap, plus three players, including one who the Nets turned into Ziare Williams who is playing an important role with the team so far this season.
The Nets are no pushover and control their future. The direction the team goes is ultimately up to them as they are in a great position to go either route.
