Top National Recruit Dylan Harper Picks Rutgers
Rutgers men’s basketball has landed Dylan Harper, the No. 2 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class, who chose to stay in his home state rather than head to bigger-name schools like Duke, Kansas, Auburn, and Indiana.
According to CBS Sports, Harper’s addition to the program bumps up Rutgers recruiting class to number three in the cycle.
Harper is the highest-ranked commitment in program history. The 6-foot-6 guard out of Ramsey, New Jersey knows a lot about the program, head coach Steve Pikiell, and the direction Rutgers is heading. He had a front-row seat, watching his brother Ron Haper Jr. become one of the most dominant players in Scarlet Knights history in recent years.
Now he will get a chance to write his own Rutgers story.
Harper joins Ace Bradley, who signed a month ago as the two five-star recruits in this year’s cycle for Steve Pikeill’s program. In addition to Harper and Bailey, three-star forward Lathan Sommerville, three-star forward Bryce Dortch and three-star forward Dylan Grant signed their national letters of intent last month per CBS Sports.
