Jets Fans Want Davante Adams Dealt From Vegas to Gang Green

What is with Jets fans obsession with disgruntled Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams?
The New York Jets are 4-3, in the thick of the AFC Playoff chase. While they are in a holding pattern on the potentially miraculous return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers from an Achilles Tear, they have immediate needs at wide receiver and offensive line.
The NFL Trade Deadline is today.
Rumors have run rampant for weeks the team could look to unload seldom used running back Dalvin Cook, and/or linebacker Carl Lawson.
Yet, during Monday night’s 26-14 Detroit Lions win over the Raiders, it was an image of Adams slamming his helmet in frustration that had Jets fans buzzing.
Jets fans seem to think Adams outburst on the sideline hints he will be dealt by today’s deadline to Gang Green.
Yes, Adams is immensely talented. He had his best days when he teamed up with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. And the two have remained close since. Perhaps one day Adams finds his way to New Jersey.
But the chances of this happening NOW are unlikely.
Adams will cost the Jets some significant compensation in draft picks going back to Las Vegas, maybe even a player (Lawson? Michael Carter?) in order to make a blockbuster deal happen.
Plus he had signed a huge five year, $140 million contract with Vegas last season, and is banking $26 million a year. The Jets would need Vegas to pick up a significant chunk of that salary.
The Jets only have about $9 million in cap space.
Then there is the personality. Adams has been vocal about his displeasure of things in Vegas already. Last year, he was charged for shoving a photographer during a game in Kansas City. Charges that were eventually dropped.
The Jets have built a very good clubhouse culture. Would Adams fit, even if his buddy Aaron Rodgers is on the team?
And let’s be honest blockbuster trades don’t typically happen in the NFL at the deadline.
DEADLINE DAY
We will find out today. Chances are more likely the Jets address their battered O-Line, or trade for a depth piece at wide receiver rather than make a splash.

Coaches! Head coaches, assistant coaches, student coaches…how do you thank them enough?
A coach can be one of the biggest role models and mentors in a child or teenagers life as they grow up. Whether they coach your son or daughter for one season, or for years to come, thank them.
Being a coach is such a selfless act. Recreational and school coaches are at practices and games on their own time and sometimes dime. Coaching is not only about teaching a child the rules to the game, or the plays to make a team succeed. Coaching is about much more than that. Coaches teach structure, discipline, humility, among a host of other qualities. How do you thank someone who plays this role in the life of your child because of choice?
Sure, gift cards are always appreciated, don’t get me wrong. But what is something that will be meaningful and treasured long after the Dick’s gift card is spent or the Olive Garden meal is enjoyed? Get the coach in your family’s life something they can value for years and years to come.
As football, fall ball, cheer and other sports seasons come to a close and with the holidays approaching quickly, now is the time to consider what gift you’ll give Coach.
