Four first period goals powered the New Jersey Devils to a dominating 7-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday at Prudential Center.

On a night where the Devils held their annual Fight Cancer Fundraiser with RWJ Barnabas, the guys on the ice had their best offensive output of the young season, as the Devils pulled to 9-9-1 on the campaign.

Tyler Toffoli netted two goals for the Devils in the victory, including the second goal of the game when he took a rebound by Brendan Smith and snuck it past goalie Devon Levi.

Alexander Holtz, Nico Hischier and Ondrej Palat also scored in the opening stanza as the Devils built a insurmountable 4-0 lead.

In the second period Toffoli netted his second goal on the night when he took another ricochet and put into the back of the net to give the Devs a 5-1 advantage.

Dawson Mercer and Luke Hughes also scored in the triumph.

Vitek Vanceck enjoyed a fairly quiet night in net for the Devils, recording nine saves.
