Kane Debut Spoiled by Senators
Patrick Kane’s debut in blue was less than ideal as the New York Rangers fell to the Ottawa Senators 5-3 at the Garden on Thursday night.
Kane played just under 20 minutes on the ice, attempted four shots and didn’t score in his first game since being acquired from Chicago for draft pick compensation.

“It was a pretty cool experience. Would like to have played a little better and come out with a win. But, hopefully it will come,” Kane told the press afterwards.

Before his acquisition, Kane hadn’t played in about two whole weeks, admitting he was a little rusty in his debut.
As for the rest of the Rangers, they couldn’t hold a 3-2 lead as Ottawa stormed back to score three goals in the final period.
Derrick Brassard, Claude Giroux and Tim Stutzle all netted goals for the Senators in the final period as Ottawa walked away with its fourth straight victory.
Chris Krieder, Patrick Trouba and Vladimir Tarasenko all scored for the Rangers as New York built its early 3-2 advantage.
The Rangers have now lost five of its last seven games.
