Red Hot Devils Keep Winning, Take First Place in Metro
The New Jersey Devils remain one of the hottest teams in the NHL at this early stage of the season.
Jersey overwhelmed the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-1 at Prudential Center, with six of those goals coming in the final two periods of the game. At 6-3, the Devils are now in sole possession of first place in the Metro Division by a point over Pittsburgh.
Seven different players netted a goal for the Devils on Sunday, while goalie Vitek Vanecek continues his inspired play recording 19 saves. It is interesting to note that the Devils have yet to allow more than 25 shots against them this season, a true testament to their defense.

With the Devils leading 1-0, Jersey kicked their offense into high gear when Nico Hischier and Ryan Graves each scored within 33 seconds of one another to put Jersey up 3-0.
John Marino, Jonas Siegenthaler, Jesper Brett and Miles Wood would score the ensuing goals the rest of the way as Jersey built a 7-1 lead.
