Rutgers 2022 Recruiting Class one of the “Best In School History”
Rutgers football season might be over, but the business of recruiting players is never a dull moment.
Rutgers has officially signed a total of 20 players, ( 18 through committed letters of intent and two walk-on’s), for its 2022 recruiting class.
According to 247sports composite rankings, this year’s group is ranked 27th in the nations, which is the second best class in Rutgers history.
To give that perspective, Texas A&M was ranked with the best recruiting class, while Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas round out the top-five recruiting classes.
Here is the 20-man class in alphabetical order:

- TE Mike Higgins, Blair
- LB Anthony Johnson, Neumann Goretti (Pa.)
- OL Nelson Monegro, Union City
- K Jai Patel, South Brunswick – walk-on.
- DL Q’yaeir Price, DePaul
- WR Rashad Rochelle, Springfield (Ill.)
- OL Emir Stinette, Imhotep Charter (Pa.)
- LB Moses Walker, Erasmus Hall (N.Y.)
- OL Taj White, Hudson Catholic
- DB Zilan Williams, DeMatha Catholic (Md.)
- QB Gavin Wimsatt, Owensboro (Ky.) – walk-on, was a red-shirt freshman this past season.
Michael Cohen is the News and Sports Director at Fox Sports Radio New Jersey and Magic 98.3 FM, as well as a radio production assistant with Fox and Magic in New Jersey. He started his career in Somerset in 2018 initially as a news fill-in at WCTC 1450 AM, and soon moved up to higher responsibilities in the ensuing years, assuming News & Sports Director title in 2021Prior to his time with Fox Sports New Jersey, Michael was play-by-play voice for New Jersey Jackals baseball, and as well as play-by-play and color for the College of Staten Island basketball (men and women), softball and baseball. Michael began his career as a news and sportswriter with the Jersey Journal of Hudson County.
