Former NFL player Kenny Vaccaro announces that he is stepping away from football after an extensive career working with both the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans. The NFL safety announced he would be starting an epsorts team as he has always seen himself as a gamer first.

This is coming after eight seasons of professional football with Kenny Vaccaro having signed with the Titans back in 2018. Over his career he’s made a name for himself with his defensive capabilities and his quick thinking on the field. Despite this information was brought to attention by a Twitter post coming from Ian Rapoport, an insider for the National Football League, stating that Mr. Vaccaro's departure from the NFL comes with him denying several offers from teams looking to pick him up, choosing instead to pursue his love of the gaming industry.

Mr. Vaccaro is looking to reinvent himself with this decision thus creating the esports team Gamers First also known as G1. This is not to be confused with the other popular esports team G2 which has a wide staff of professional gamers in competitive games such as League of Legends, CS-GO and the new Halo Infinite. Vaccaro is partnering with two other professional gamers to help create G1 into a professional team. Some fans even wonder if the two teams will compete against each other in the near future.

It seems as if Halo and other multiplayer first person shooters will be the starting focus of G1 as they have already recruited several players from Halo and the popular FSP game Destiny. It seems like they will be looking to claim victory in the upcoming Halo World Championship coming in 2022. Though no official team roaster has been announced further information was gathers from a post made Wednesday December 1st by Kenny Vacarro, who now goes by the name “G1 Savage” where he ignores a text from the Atlanta Falcons instead walking away past a helmet belonging to Master Chief one of the main protagonists of the Halo series.

This is all exciting news as a new team means more fierce and steady competition fighting for the top spot in some of your favorite esport titles. Will G1 prove that they have what it takes to go for gold? We’ll wait eagerly as more information becomes available.
