World Population Reaches 7.8 Billion People
There will be 7.8 billion people in the world on New Year’s Day 2022, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Newly released data shows the world population grew by 74 million in the year 2021, a growth rate of 0.9%. That breaks down to 4.3 births and two deaths every single second.
The U.S. population grew by 707,000 to 332 million in 2021, and will grow by an average of one person every 40 seconds in the year to come.
