Severe Thunderstorms Across New Jersey To Bring Damaging Winds, Possible Tornado Risk
Due to the cold front moving in across the area west to east today, New Jersey now has an enhanced risk for severe weather Monday afternoon into the evening.
The National Weather Service has reported that the “likely time” for the severe weather will take place from now until 8 pm tonight (May 16).
The severe thunderstorm watch will have a primary threat of damaging wind gusts of up to 60mph with the possibility of large hail as well. Isolated tornadoes are also possible in parts of the state.
The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office would like to remind you that if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. You should move indoors immediately.
Stay safe, everyone!
