"Sopranos Night" isn't the only event we have marked on our calendars for this upcoming summer. As it turns out the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have another wrinkle up their sleeve.

Jersey Diners!

The Patriots unveiled brand new alternate jerseys and caps with the identity "Jersey Diners" as a tribute to the Garden State's rich history of causal American dining spots.

"We are excited to rebrand as the Jersey Diners for a few games this season,” said Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry via SomersetPatriots.com. “Diners are such a special part of the DNA of New Jersey. When we decided to move forward with our first full rebrand, it made a lot of sense to do something that resonates with so many people throughout our state. Playing as the Jersey Diners is a true representation of this area and an identity we feel everyone will want to get behind.”

The logos were created by Ryan Foose of Foose Sports Designs. The uniforms are neon/powder blue with pink numerals and white pipping to mimic the neon colors seen on diners throughout the state.

A Jersey Diners logo designed as a neon sign adorns the front of the jersey.

The cap features a smiling coffee mug with a bowtie and chefs hat.

WHEN WILL THE PATRIOTS WEAR THE UNIFORMS?

The Patriots will wear the uniforms on three dates:

Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m. against the Hartford Yardgoats.

Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m. against the Portland Seadogs.

Sunday, August 11 at 5 p.m. against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

PHIL MURPHY

According to a Patriots press release, Governor Phil Murphy chimed in on the new threads: '“New Jersey prides itself on being known as the Diner Capital of the World. As Governor, I commend the Somerset Patriots for recognizing the importance of diners in the Garden State, and I thank all who continue to support these local family-owned businesses.”'
