CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA - JUNE 12: A cheese, sausage and egg McGriddles breakfast sandwich at a McDonald's is shown June 12, 2003 in Coral Gables, Florida. The new McGriddles breakfast sandwiches are made to eat between pancakes, with maple syrup baked right in, and different combinations of sausage, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs and melted cheese in a sandwich.

Over its multidecade long run, McDonald’s has had a number of popular items come and go, most recently the McRib set the stage much to the enjoyment of fast food enthusiasts. However, according to NJ.com an item is returning that is well worth its weight in gold and free food.

Of course, we’re talking about the return of the Mcdonald’s Gold Card which is making its first comeback since 2018. This is the equivalent of getting Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket, so how can one join the social club of cardholders that includes Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and more? Well, it’s easy, but your chances are low but well worth it as if you are chosen as one of the three possible lucky winners you can bring along three of your friends to receive a McGold Card.

According to reports, the card will last for the life of the holder and it appears that entries can be gained in a number of ways that include using their Mobile Order & Pay for McDonald’s app, going in person to scan or share your code at any of their in-person services or finally you can redeem a deal or a reward for free food and be entered. To action begins December 5th and goes until the end of Christmas day on the 25th and will consist of three separate entry periods one for each week. So will you be competing to win this legendary item that started with McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc? I certainly will, though I don’t plan on turning this venture into a copy of supersize me. Meanwhile, Mcdonald’s does have plenty of holiday deals for those who don’t win.
