Former New Brunwsick Volunteer to be Honored March 26
A former volunteer and educator in New Brunswick will have her life honored by friends, family and co-workers on March 26 after passing away from a battle with COVID-19 back in February.
According to Chuck O’Donnell at Tap into New Brunswick, Ana Perez-Arietta passed away due to complications from COVID-19 at the age of 34, two months after giving birth to her son. She left behind her son, daughter and longtime boyfriend.
“She was known for her trademark smile, unbridled enthusiasm and willingness to help others, whether she was volunteering at PRAB, helping English learners fill out their taxes, serving meals at Elijah’s Promise, working through the New Brunswick Police Department as a counselor for women who were survivors of domestic abuse or planning school fairs and shows,” (O’Donnell).
Perez-Arietta also spent a decade working at the Greater Brunswick Charter School. Many who worked with her at the school remembered a kind person who was always willing to help others.
A ceremony will be held in Perez-Arietta’s honor at Greater Brunswick Charter School at 10 a.m., March 26.
