The Somerset Patriots dominated the Erie Seawolves 9-2 in Game 2 of the Eastern League Championship Series, evening up the series at a game a piece and forcing a winner-take-all championship game on Wednesday at TD Bank Ballpark. First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m.

Five Patriots hitters were in double-figures on Tuesday night, with Yankees top rated catching prospect Austin Wells playing a staring role.

Wells went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. He also scored three runs. Wells' three-run bomb in the bottom of the first inning was only just beginning of the onslaught.

In the bottom of the second, Jasson Dominguez and Elijah Dunham both went yard with two run homers that propelled the Patriots to an 8-2 lead.

Later, Andres Chaparro doubled and scored Wells in the bottom of the fourth to close out the scoring for the Yankees Double-A affiliate.

Yoendrys Gomez was brilliant, tossing two-hit ball over five innings of work. He struck out six and walked one, and gave up a two-run homer.

The combination of Barrett Loseke, Emmanual Ramirez, Carlos Espinal combined to blank the Seawolves over four innings of play, giving up a grand total of two hits with seven strikeouts.

Wednesday night's championship game will be the Patriots first ever opportunity to win an Double-A Eastern League title since becoming the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
