EAGLES 31 – 49ers 7

Look away Giants fans, the Eagles are soaring to Arizona for Super Bowl LVII after a dominating 31-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The game itself was nothing to write home about. The story-line was dominated by the elbow injury to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy who left the game in the first quarter, and only returned late in the third quarter because back-up Josh Johnson left with a concussion.

San Francisco really couldn’t get anything going. They managed only 11 first downs and 164 yards of offense as they battled both the Eagles and the refs (11 penalties for 81 yards).

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles did pretty much whatever they wanted especially on the ground. The Eagles ran for 148 yards and four touchdowns, with Miles Sanders leading the way with a pair of scores and 42-yards rushing. Sanders two scores helped Philly build a 14-7 lead.

Boston Scott added a 10-yard score of his own after the Eagles recovered a fumble by Josh Johnson.

Hurts, who had a quiet day through the air, throwing for 125 yards, gashed the Niners on the ground in the third quarter leading to his 1-yard plunge to put the Eagles up 28-7 and en route to the franchises fourth ever Super Bowl appearance and second trip in five seasons.
