Yankees Slugger Aaron Judge is heading to the injury list for the second time this season.

Manager Aaron Boone confirmed following the Yankees 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox that Judge would hit the IL with what is being diagnosed as a contusion and a ligament sprain in his right big toe.  The good news is there was no break or fracture.

Judge injured the toe while tracking down a fly ball and crashing through a chain link fence in right field at Dodgers Stadium on Saturday.

The injury to Judge comes with starting pitcher Nestor Cortes also hitting the IL with a shoulder issue.

Judge, the reigning AL MVP, was having another All-Star caliber season this year. Before the injury Judge was hitting .291 with 19 home runs and 40 RBI. Statistically speaking he was on pace to match a number of statistics from last season's campaign.

The Yankees are 36-26, two games behind Baltimore for second place in the AL East, and 7.5 back of Tampa Bay for first place.
