Somerset Patriots With Greatest Comeback Win Since Becoming Yankees’ Affiliate
It was the greatest comeback victory the Somerset Patriots have enjoyed since becoming the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
Trailing 7-0 in the sixth inning, the Patriots rallied off 11-unsanswered runs — over a three inning span — to shock the Boston Red Sox Double-A affiliate, the Portland SeaDogs, 11-7 on Thursday night.
Tyler Hardman has the hit heard round the world when he launched a grand slam homer to straight away center field that gave the Patriots a 8-7 lead in the seventh inning.
THE COMEBACK IS REAL.

Hardman wound up driving in five runs, thanks to a walk in the sixth inning. Austin Wells was credited with a pair of RBI’s he earned on walks.
Of course the comeback couldn’t have happened without a stellar bullpen. The combination of Steven Jennings, Justin Wilson and Tanner Myatt propelled the Patriots with 5.1 shutout innings in relief to give Somerset a chance.
The Patriots and Dogs continue their series tonight and all weekend from TD Bank Ballpark.
