New York Giants Sign Paris Campbell
So far the Giants have had an active offseason and it continues. The New York Giants just signed Paris Campbell to a one-year deal. Adding some much-needed depth to their wide receiver core.
Campbell is the latest pass-catcher to sign with the Giants. The Giants made a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for tight end Darren Waller and signed free-agent wide receiver Jeff Smith from the New York Jets.
Campbell entered free agency coming off the first full season of his career. He played in all 17 games for the Indianapolis Colts. Before last season he never played more than seven games in a season.
Most of Campbell’s career has been interrupted by injuries but he was eager to show what he can do when healthy. He had some limits due to the Colts’ situation at quarterback, the Colts started three different quarterbacks in the 2022 season.
In the 2022 season, Campbell had 63 catches for 623 yards, both are career highs for him. With the Colts Campbell was used mostly as a slot receiver but his speed gives him the potential to be a deep threat.
The 2019 second-round pick out of Ohio State has 97 receptions, 983 yards, and five touchdowns over four seasons in the NFL.
This is a great pickup for the Giants who are in need of more receivers. He is capable of being a top-three receiver on the roster. As long as he is healthy he can become a reliable target for Jones.
The Giants are re-signing linebacker Jihad Ward to a one-year deal.
