Upcoming ‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoff Has A New Deadly Title
You may have seen zombies roaming the streets of New Jersey and no it wasn’t someone who hadn’t had their cup of coffee yet. Well, it’s all because of AMC’s The Walking Dead Spinoff series which was at the time titled Isle of the Dead. However now according to Entertainment Weekly, there have been some changes to the upcoming spinoff.

If this is your first time hearing this it’s true that zombies were spotted in Central Jersey, more specifically in the town of Holmdel at the Holmdel Motor Inn, with the show taking place in post-apocalyptic Manhattan. However, now the title has changed according to AMC the old title no longer was working, thus the new title The Walking Dead: Dead City has effectively taken over.

We also know that the spinoff series featuring prominent Walking Dead characters Maggie played by Lauren Cohan and Negan played by Jeffery Dean Morgan will have only six episodes in its first season. As for the main plot AMC is still holding some information back, but we can still assume that Maggie and Negan will have to use their brains and survival skills to survive in a city brimming with the undead and living.

Everyone that is part of the project is not only excited to see the characters’ journey but is excited to make a new chapter in the walking dead universe. However, with the main series not yet finished, AMC has stated that fans will learn why Maggie and the man who killed her husband are traveling to the Big Apple together when the mainline series concludes this October.
Overall, I am excited to see a new story be brought to light by Eli Jorné who serves as the main showrunner for this new series. Of course, we don’t have an official date yet for the episodes to begin releasing, however, we can expect it sometime in early 2023.
