Coach K Loses Final “Home Game” to UNC
Coach Mike Krzyzewski, one of the greatest basketball minds in history, coached his final regular season home game for the Duke Blue Devils in front of a sell out crowd at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Unfortunately for Duke fans, and those who paid on average $5,392 for a ticket to the game, it didn’t go as planned as the University of North Carolina ran away with a 94-81 victory.
Duke led by as many as seven points with 12:49 to go in the game, before UNC took off, outscoring the Blue Devils 45-25 the rest of the way.
The game was preceded by an emotional pregame pregame as Kryzewski walked through a conga line of his former players.
After UNC defeated Duke, Coach K interrupted a post-game ceremony for — what many deemed — was a somewhat bizarre post-game speech where the Coach called the afternoon “unacceptable” to the standards set by the program, vowing that the season wasn’t over just yet as the NCAA tournament nears.
“It’s unacceptable.”

There’s a postgame ceremony for Coach K, but before that, he came up and apologized to fans after today’s loss to UNC. @WFMY #CoachK pic.twitter.com/npgwwzqbV5
