DEVILS 7 - BLUES 4

The suddenly red-hot New Jersey Devils scored seven goals for the second consecutive game, this time behind a five-goal third period as they blew past the St. Louis Blues 7-4 Thursday night.

Yegor Sharangovich and Nico Hischier powered the Devils in a thrill-a-minute third period. First Sharangovich tied the game at three when he tapped in a pass by Hischier with 10:52 to go in the period.

Two minutes later Hischier took a pass across ice from PK Subban and slapped the puck from the circle into the back of the net to give the Devils a 4-3 lead. Jimmy Vesey joined the fun, when he swatted the puck off the back of his stick up into the air and past the shoulder of St. Louis goalie Jordan Binnington to make it 5-3. After St. Louis got a goal back, the Devils put this bad boy on ice when Damon Stevenson was kicked the puck out away from goal, and shot it down the rink before Jesper Boqvist tapped it in on the empty net power play to give New Jersey a 6-4 lead with 1:30 to go.

Hischier would add one more for good measure in the final 30 seconds.

The Devils two game-road winning streak is their first of the season. They now stand at 17-26-5 on the season.
